What Is a Clinical Trial?

A clinical trial—also referred to as a research study or clinical study—is a type of medical research that involves human volunteers. The purpose of a clinical trial is to expand medical knowledge and improve patient care. These studies help researchers better understand how to treat, diagnose, and prevent diseases and other health conditions.

Parrish Healthcare and Infigo Clinical Research Partner to Advance Community Health; Expanding Clinical Trial Access in North Brevard County

TITUSVILLE, FLA. (March 2, 2026).—Parrish Healthcare announces a new partnership with Infigo Clinical Research, a Sanford, Florida-based multi-therapeutic network of physicians and researchers, to conduct community-based clinical trials aimed at expanding patient access to innovative therapies and advancing medical research.

These clinical trials are designed to support earlier diagnosis, broaden patient representation and accelerate the development of new treatment options for complex and life-threatening conditions.

Parrish Healthcare plans to support clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas, including women’s health, men’s health and general medicine. Initial clinical trials will focus on oncology, hematology and cardiometabolic disorders.

“Parrish Healthcare and Infigo Clinical Research are advancing community health, bringing high-quality clinical trials directly to the North Brevard community, reducing barriers to participation and expanding opportunities for patients to engage in leading-edge research close to home,” said Parrish Healthcare Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer Chris McAlpine.

“Our focus is to advance patient-centered innovation in two key areas: oncology and cardiometabolic diseases,” said Dr. Sayed Husain, President of Infigo Clinical Research. “We aim to drive innovation in oncology by offering access to cutting-edge, trial-phase therapies tailored to benefit specific patient populations, with an emphasis on precision medicine and unmet clinical needs.
