Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Updates

Parrish Medical Center continues to stay in regular communication with Governor DeSantis' office and the Department of Health regarding its plans to provide COVID-19 vaccines to Brevard residents as quickly as possible. At this time, Parrish Medical Center has not been designated a community vaccination site by the state. To-date, Parrish Medical Center has not been allocated any additional vaccine other than its first and only shipment of 600 doses intended only for front line healthcare workers, such as those working in the Emergency Department and COVID care units, per the Governor’s Executive Order. Parrish Medical Center has approximately 700 more care partners waiting to be vaccinated. We have requested on multiple occasions to receive additional shipments of vaccine. However, given that current demand is outpacing supply of the vaccine, we have received no commitments from the State as to how many or when we might expect another shipment of vaccine.

Consequently, at this time you are best served by registering with the Brevard County Health Department or other state designated community vaccination sites to receive a vaccine. For information regarding vaccination appointments, Brevard County Emergency Management is using the Nixle Alert emergency notification system to announce appointment opportunities as they arise, and based on supply availability, for COVID-19 vaccinations. Users will receive the alerts on their mobile phone from the Nixle notification system.

To register for text alerts, create a new text message on your mobile phone to 888777, and in the text message body write Brevardeoc, then hit send.

We will continue to work diligently together with the Department of Health and state officials in securing enough vaccine for our frontline care partners as well as the community we serve. Updates will be provided as soon as they are available. Thank you for your continued patience and support.
