Parrish Healthcare’s family of services has been nationally recognized for clinical quality, patient safety, patient’s hospital experience, low cost and healing environments. It’s all been for one purpose: to provide better healthcare for our community. We’re one of America’s finest healing environments® and one of the safest.
These annual reports will tell you about the many ways we are fulfilling our vision, mission and values. Nothing means more than seeing the joy in the face of a person who has overcome illness or injury. Or a smile shared by a patient’s family member. It’s why healthcare is so rewarding to us. Modern medicine can create miracles. The professionals of Parrish Healthcare see them every day in the faces of the people we serve.
You probably know us as the fundraiser for new programs and services at Parrish Medical Center. But did you know that we also give back to the community to a variety of organizations that help people of all ages? In fact, some of the organizations that have received grants in the past may be ones you support with your time and money.
We’re dedicated to supporting and enhancing healthcare outreach, patient care, rehabilitation, and wellness services that contribute to a better quality of life for citizens in North Brevard. That’s why grants are awarded to community organizations whose purpose and mission is consistent with—and supportive of—Parrish Medical Center.
Some recently awarded grants include:
The JPMF Community Grants Committee meets four times a year to review applications. Each year, grants totaling approximately $50,000 are awarded to assist diverse North Brevard residents.
Throughout the year, PMC care partners share their knowledge and expertise in the community at hospital-sponsored health events, health fairs, back-to-school events, educational programs and with civic and faith-based groups. PMC also works with other health and human services organizations in the county to ensure our residents get the care they need, no matter their circumstances.
Because we are an independent, public hospital, we answer to the citizens of North Brevard – not investors or shareholders. In fact, to make decisions about the health priorities in which we invest our resources, we use the results of a biennial community health needs assessment (conducted every two years), input from a community health advisory board, and other community health status sources.
The CHP represents over 300 social service agencies. The members bring together the most comprehensive group of social service, government and education organizations in the area with the purpose of identifying, prioritizing, and working collaboratively to solve community needs and issues that impact health. Projects include improving access to dental care for the uninsured, expanding application site for the Florida Food Assistance Program (SNAP), and the Community Navigator Project.
