I have been volunteering at the Center for about six years. The staff is very welcoming, and I have great respect for how the teachers work with the kids. My passion for working with younger children is expanded by how much fun I have when the kids are interacting with me. They now know me and we can have fun together.
I like taking the time to reach out and help others. At The Children’s Center, I feel like I am making a positive impact on the kids every time I volunteer.
John: The innocence of a child. When I do my magic tricks, I love to see the look of amazement on the children’s faces. Their smiles bring me joy, and I hope that I am inspiring them to think and question everything.
Karen: When we read to the kids, we are bringing the storybook characters to life. The children are receiving hands-on learning, while we receive satisfaction in knowing we are engaging young children in the love of reading.
It’s important for us to give back. John and I choose to support the Center as we appreciate the people who have helped my grandson grow and develop over the years. It’s a wonderful environment for all children and we are grateful for the opportunities they offer.
I am a nursing student at Eastern Florida State College, with only one more semester until graduation. I volunteer in the three-year-old classroom and mom’s morning out program. I really enjoy spending time with both the teachers and the children. The teachers have taught me a lot about how to interact with young children in a positive way. This experience will help me be a better nurse in the near future and a better mom someday.
