Health Education Scholarships in Brevard County

Jess Parrish Medical Foundation supports aspiring healthcare professionals reach their goals by making health education more accessible.

Medical Scholarships

In partnership with the Parrish Medical Center (PMC) Auxiliary, medical scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who reside in the PMC service area (SR 528 north to the Brevard/Volusia county line). Any student in need of financial assistance with an unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or greater, based on a 4.0 scale, and who is seeking a career in a medical or healthcare field related to human health will be considered.

Those awarded JPMF/Auxiliary scholarships in previous years may reapply each year if they are continuing in the human health/medical field and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Strong consideration is given to applicants intending to return to North Brevard County to pursue their careers upon graduation. Awards are to be applied to tuition, books, supplies or other expenses related to the student’s educational pursuit at a regionally accredited two-or four-year college/ university. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

High school students who attend Astronaut High School, Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School, Titusville High School or Edgewood Senior High may obtain an application from the Guidance Office at their school or click here. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, March 5, 2021.

The Karla Foster, RN, Memorial Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established in loving memory of Karla Foster, a nurse at Parrish Medical Center for over 22 years. This scholarship honors Karla and the profession she loved so much, and offers the opportunity to a deserving nursing student to carry on the professionalism, commitment, dedication and loving care that she demonstrated all her life. A new or currently enrolled nursing student is eligible to apply for the Karla Foster, R.N. Memorial Scholarship. The awardee will be provided $3,000 to be applied towards tuition, books, supplies or other expenses related to completing the student’s nursing program.

Only students accepted or enrolled in a nursing program and who reside in the Parrish Medical Center service area (one of the following zip codes: 32754, 32755, 32796, 32780, 32927, 32926 are eligible. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA to be considered.

Karla Foster Scholarship applications will be available in April 2021.
