TITUSVILLE, FLA. (October 26, 2026)—For the 31st consecutive year, North Brevard residents will pay no hospital-district taxes to support Parrish Medical Center. At a public hearing on September 28, 2026, the Parrish Medical Center Board of Directors voted unanimously to keep the millage rate at zero and approved the fiscal year 2026–2027 budget—continuing Parrish Medical Center’s longstanding commitment to delivering healthcare services without placing an additional tax burden on the community.

Parrish Medical Center is an independent, public, not-for-profit hospital. Although state law authorizes the North Brevard County Hospital District (d/b/a Parrish Medical Center) to levy taxes to support hospital operations, the Board of Directors has chosen not to exercise that authority for more than three decades.

“By maintaining a zero-millage rate, Parrish Medical Center helps residents keep more of their hard-earned money while continuing to provide high-quality healthcare close to home,” said Robert Jordan, Chairman of Parrish Medical Center’s Board of Directors. “Through effective governance and operational leadership, Parrish Medical Center has maintained its fiscal strength without levying taxes, while consistently providing tens of millions of dollars in charity care and philanthropic support to our community and remaining the region’s lowest-cost provider for most services.”
