Giving Thanks

The Thanksgiving holiday is the perfect time to reflect on what’s most important. Thanksgiving reminds us of the interconnectedness among all of us, our mission, and the community we serve. It is the interconnectedness that has, since 1958, fueled our purpose-driven mission as Brevard’s only independent, public, not-for-profit health system—a distinction that is worth protecting. It’s a time to celebrate gratitude with those who matter most: family, friends, colleagues, and community.

For me, my gratitude for YOU, our family of Care Partners, is bountiful. I am grateful for your skills, talents, values, and loyalty. I am grateful to those who sacrifice spending time with their loved ones to take care of the sick and injured in our care.

Through thick and thin—hurricanes, pandemics, economic, or political obstacles—YOU have stood firm in your loyalty to our purpose-driven mission on behalf of the people and community we serve. Together, we have, and will continue to overcome, and to fight, against any obstacle that attempts to deter us from our mission and purpose.

I am deeply grateful, as well, for the governance provided by our Board of Directors. As representatives of the people and the community we serve, they hold us accountable for meeting community needs; providing affordable access to quality, healing health care to EVERY North Brevard citizen; and investing every dollar earned back into community building and quality of life improvement initiates.

I am grateful for our extended family of community partners (allied health, business, civic, community, faith-based, and governmental); JPMF Board of Directors, volunteers and donors; and patients past and present who share our unwavering commitment to the purpose-driven mission of Parrish Healthcare.

Together, we are Parrish Healthcare. Our collective commitment to caring for, and about, our community is a distinction worth fighting for, through thick and thin.

With a grateful heart, I give thanks. -George Mikitarian, President/CEO
