PMC Care Partners In The Community

Committee participates in Titusville Seniors At Lunch program

PMC United Way committee members have been participating in site visits to United Way agencies so they can view firsthand just how UW funds are used. One of the visits was to the Titusville Seniors At Lunch program, sponsored by the Community Services Council. It’s a way for adults who can get out of their homes, unlike the community members who receive Meals On Wheels, and receive a hot lunch as well as socialize. The PMC care partners who visited in early September also learned that during the senior’s daily bingo games, the prizes of canned foods were highly prized, but there was little in reserve.

After a mini-food drive and with the help of PMC business partner Medline, the bingo prizes were replenished for many weeks to come and each senior received a personal hygiene gift bag that contained soap, toothbrush and toothpaste and other hygiene items. In fact, there were so many gift bags that there were enough for everyone who received Meals On Wheels on Saturday, September 26.

Shown moving the food and gift bags for delivery are Jose Tirado, Erin Lelle and John Kofil.
