About Rahul

Rahul Lohana, MD, is a dedicated OB-GYN who specializes in preventive women’s health, pregnancy and family planning, general gynecology, evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence and menopause care. He possesses the knowledge, skills and expertise to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for the female reproductive system.

Dr. Lohana completed medical school at Liaquat University in Hyderabad, Pakistan, followed by OB-GYN residency training at Flushing Hospital in Flushing, New York; St. Joseph’s University in Paterson, New Jersey and Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He is trained in robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgery and is proud to incorporate advanced surgical techniques into his gynecologic practice.

Dr. Lohana specializes in robotic-assisted gynecologic procedures using the da Vinci® Surgical System. He utilizes advanced robotic technology to perform a range of minimally invasive procedures tailored to each patient’s individual needs, including:

• Robotic-Assisted Hysterectomy (Surgical removal of the uterus)
• Robotic-Assisted Salpingectomy (Surgical removal of one or both fallopian tubes)
• Robotic-Assisted Oophorectomy (Surgical removal of one or both ovaries)
• Robotic-Assisted Pelvic Organ Prolapse Repair (Surgical procedure to restore support to pelvic organs that have dropped out of their normal position)
• Robotic-Assisted Myomectomy for Uterine Fibroids (Surgical removal of uterine fibroids, noncancerous growths in the uterus, to help relieve symptoms while preserving the uterus)
• Robotic-Assisted Endometriosis Resection (Removal of endometriosis tissue to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life)
• Robotic-Assisted Lysis of Adhesions (Removal or separation of scar tissue that may cause pain or restrict the movement of pelvic organs)

When clinically appropriate, minimally invasive surgical approaches may offer benefits such as smaller incisions and a potentially shorter recovery compared with traditional open surgery.
