Parrish Healthcare and the Titusville Playhouse Bring Healing Experiences Through the Arts

TITUSVILLE, FLA. (October 6, 2026)—Healing doesn’t always happen in a clinical setting. Sometimes, it happens in a theater—through laughter shared with a loved one, a story that inspires or simply the opportunity to spend an evening together experiencing something joyful.

Parrish Healthcare is proud to continue its long-standing sponsorship of the Titusville Playhouse, a not-for-profit performing arts organization located in downtown Titusville. Originally established in 1965, and now celebrating its 61st show season, the Titusville Playhouse provides enriching theatrical, artistic and social experiences for its audiences.

Through this continued partnership, Parrish Healthcare purchases unsold tickets for performances and makes them available at no cost to patients, their families and Care Partners—physicians, employees and volunteers. This partnership reflects Parrish Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to its mission, Healing Experiences for Everyone All the Time®, and its belief that healing extends beyond clinical care.

“Laughter, connection and meaningful experiences are all part of healing,” said George Mikitarian, president and CEO of Parrish Healthcare. “Through our partnership with the Titusville Playhouse, we’re grateful to provide opportunities for our patients, families and Care Partners to enjoy an evening together, create memories and experience the restorative power of the arts.”

Research increasingly points to the connection between participation in the arts and well-being. In examining the role of the arts in improving health and well-being, The World Health Organization advises arts engagement can support mental health, social connection and overall quality of life.

For patients and families navigating illness, these connections can be particularly meaningful. An evening at the theater provides an opportunity to step outside the stresses associated with healthcare, reconnect with loved ones and experience laughter, creativity and community.

“Healthcare is about more than treating a diagnosis,” Mikitarian continues. “It’s also about recognizing the whole person—their emotional well-being, relationships and need for joy. Creating opportunities for those experiences is one way we can bring our mission of healing to life.”

Tickets are not guaranteed for every performance, as some shows sell out. When tickets are available, Care Partners who identify a patient or family who might enjoy a performance contact Volunteer Services.
