Parrish Healthcare Shows Support for National Child Abuse Prevention Month

TITUSVILLE, FLA. (April 13, 2026)—In observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month this April, Parrish Healthcare is raising awareness by displaying blue pinwheels throughout the planters in its main hospital atrium. The display serves as a visual reminder of the importance of preventing child abuse and neglect, while emphasizing the critical role families and communities play in creating safe, nurturing environments for children.

First proclaimed in 1983, National Child Abuse Prevention Month is symbolized by the blue pinwheel—an emblem of hope, resilience and the bright futures all children deserve. Parrish Healthcare’s installation is part of its continued commitment to supporting children and families, while encouraging community-wide action through education and advocacy.

“Child abuse is a deeply concerning issue that impacts not only children, but entire families and communities,” said Natalie Sellers, Senior Vice President of Communications, Community and Corporate Services at Parrish Healthcare. “By displaying blue pinwheels, we aim to bring greater awareness to this cause and inspire others to take part in prevention efforts.”

The pinwheel, often associated with the joy and innocence of childhood, represents the vision of a safe and healthy upbringing for every child. Through this initiative, Parrish Healthcare hopes to spark meaningful conversations and promote proactive steps toward prevention.
