Parrish Healthcare and Junior Achievement Partner to Inspire Health Science Students

TITUSVILLE, FLA. (February 26, 2025)—In partnership with Junior Achievement of the Space Coast, Parrish Healthcare welcomed students fromEducation team in action Cocoa High School for an engaging, hands-on learning experience led by Parrish Healthcare’s Education Team. Designed to inspire future healthcare professionals, the event offered students a behind-the-scenes look at medical careers through interactive activities and guest speakers from multiple disciplines within the hospital.

The hands-on learning day was organized in partnership with Junior Achievement of the Space Coast to inspire and educate young minds about the healthcare industry. Parrish Care Partners generously shared their knowledge and experience, answering students' questions and offering advice on pursuing careers in medicine.

During the visit, students experienced a variety of activities designed to give them a firsthand look at various hospital operations. Activities included practicing CPR on interactive mannequins, understanding required personal protective equipment necessary prior to surgery, the proper process for putting on a surgical cap, gown and mask and correct handwashing techniques.

It was a pleasure to share our passion for healthcare and provide students with an immersive experience that may impact their future career paths.” said Mikitarian.

The event was well-received by students and teachers alike, who expressed their gratitude for the chance to learn directly from medical professionals. The visit also highlighted the importance of community partnerships that foster education and career development.

Rose Hudson, HOPE Project Manager for Junior Achievement of the Space Coast, notes the impact the day had on students involved. “The hands-on presentations from the hospital’s Education Team were an impactful way to showcase diverse career paths within the medical field and highlight the importance of collaboration in the healthcare industry,” said Hudson. “Providing students the opportunity to engage with industry professionals and gain real-world insights is exactly the kind of experience that helps them become future ready. Dr. George Mikitarian’s advice on asking questions, communicating and adapting will no doubt inspire them as they begin launching their dreams."
