First Woman and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine to be Elected Medical Staff President

 Pamela Tronetti, DO, AGSF
Members of the Parrish Medical Center medical staff have elected Pamela Tronetti, DO, AGSF, as president of the hospital’s medical staff, making her the first woman and first doctor of osteopathic medicine to hold the position.

Tronetti, board-certified and fellowship-trained in family practice and geriatric medicine physician, will serve as president in 2018.

As medical staff president, Dr. Tronetti is an ex-officio member of the PMC Board of Directors, presides over the Medical Executive Committee, and all medical staff committees and departments.

She succeeds as medical staff president Aluino L. Ochoa, MD, who served throughout 2017.

"Quality and safety are at the heart of everything that Parrish does and our physicians play a leadership role," said Dr. Tronetti." I have the privilege to work with physicians who practice evidence-based medicine based on national standards while retaining that small-town touch.

Caring for senior citizens is Dr. Tronetti’s medical practice focus, with particular attention on dementia, other complex medical problems, and caregiver support and education.

She received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; completed her internship and residency of general practice at the Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania; and a fellowship at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Tronetti, a national expert on elder care, has published numerous articles in professional and general interest publications, among them the Journal of the American Medical Association, Vim & Vigor magazine, and a recurring column in the Health Section of FLORIDA TODAY. She also is a frequent speaker across the country on the subject of elder care.

The American Geriatrics Society Board of Directors and its 2014 Awards Committee selected Dr. Tronetti for the AGS Clinician of the Year Award, which honors clinicians who make outstanding contributions to quality healthcare to older people.

Dr. Tronetti’s office is located at the Parrish Senior Consultation Center, 805-A Century Medical Drive in Titusville.
