2016 Gift of Light Tree Lighting

Parrish Medical Center’s 25th annual Gift of Light tree lighting and fireworks extravaganza is a treasured community tradition that signals the start of the holiday season.

Twenty five years ago, the Parrish Medical Auxiliary organized the very first Gift of Light celebration with the lighting of a modest tree of lights perched atop the former hospital tower. Members of the community would purchase a light on the tree in tribute of a loved one and in tribute to the healing mission of Parrish Medical Center.

This year, PMC’s Gift of Light event will once again be held where it all began—at the site of the original tree lighting, which today has been developed into a beautiful wellness park, thanks to generous donations made to the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation.

PMC’s grand 50-foot tree of lights will stand as a landmark-tribute to our 25-year tradition of lighting the way to the healing power of hope, love and joy of the season. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new park has been added to this year’s festivities. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. and immediately be followed by the tree lighting and a spectacular fireworks show.

The community and kids of all ages will enjoy holiday performances by members of the Titusville High School Orchestra, Titusville Playhouse, and magician Todd Bogue. The Atlantic City Boys will also perform Broadway-style holiday favorites on the main stage. There will be games, prizes, face painting and lots of photo opportunities with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves. Complimentary hot chocolate, cider and baked goods will be provided and local community food vendors will have samples to share.

Honor or memorialize a loved one by placing a light on the Gift of Light tree. To purchase your Gift of Light, call 321-269-4066 or visit parrishmedfoundation.com/donate.
