Knowing the Facts about Domestic Violence

A workshop for anyone interested in learning more about domestic violence.

Parrish Medical Center, Parrish Healthcare Center at Port St. John, and the Women's Center present are co-sponsoring this important presentation. It will be held on Thursday, October 21, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Parrish Healthcare Center at Port St. John Community Room, 5005 Port St. John Parkway (east of the I-95 Port St. John exit).

The Women’s Center will present information on a basic understanding of what domestic violence is; the resources available to victims of domestic violence; the services provided by the Women’s Center in North Brevard; and opportunities available to the community for people to get involved.

Established in 1975, the Women’s Center is a nonprofit organization serving the needs of women and their families with programs that evolve to meet the changing needs in women’s lives. They are designed to help women help themselves to develop safe, healthy, and self-sufficient lives. Recent events led to the expansion of domestic violence victim’s services into Titusville and North Brevard, which will soon include a domestic violence victim’s shelter for women and their children.

The mission of the Women’s Center is to empower women and their families by providing support, education, counseling, information and services. For additional information about the Women’s Center, call 321-607-6811, or visit the website at www.WomensCenterInBrevard.org. The workshop is meant for anyone interested in learning more about domestic violence.
