Parrish Medical Center (PMC), a Parrish Healthcare integrated care partner, has been in continuous operation in the North Brevard area of Florida’s Space Coast since 1958 and has been designated by NASA as an official medical receiving facility. First opened as North Brevard Hospital with 28 patient beds, the facility was expanded to include 96 beds in 1966, renovated in 1981 and replaced with an $80 million, 371,000-square-foot facility in November 2002.
PMC is named for the Parrish family of North Brevard who first donated land for a community hospital in the 1930s and made another major land gift in 1963.
Today, PMC is an award-winning, nationally recognized 208-bed, five story, not-for-profit, public, hospital serving the entire North Brevard community with an array of wellness and healthcare services. No local taxes have been levied to support the hospital's mission since 1994.
Parrish became the nation’s first Integrated Care certified healthcare organization by The Joint Commission. With certification in 2016, PMC introduced Parrish Healthcare, a regional integrated network of collaborative health service providers, including:
Parrish Medical Center, nationally recognized as One of America’s
Finest Healing Environments® and recipient of numerous patient safety
and quality certifications and accreditations;
Parrish Medical Group, a large multispecialty group of employed physicians
and providers located throughout Brevard County certified by the National
Commission on Quality Assurance, and;
Parrish Health Network, a large, collaborative regional network of hundreds
of independent physicians and providers, multiple insurance companies,
The Children’s Center, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation, and many
other allied health services.
A growing network of Parrish Healthcare Centers are now located in Titusville and Port St. John. The center in Port St. John was Florida’s first outpatient healthcare facility to earn the LEED® Silver certification as an environmentally sustainable ‘Green’ building.
Parrish Healthcare is proud to continue its honored not-for-profit tradition of serving the health and wellness needs of the North Brevard community; believing in bringing the best and brightest together for the common good.
