Behavioral therapy is a form of mental treatment that focuses on identifying and managing the behaviors of a patient that can be contributing to adverse effects on their health. This avenue of therapy is founded on the idea that behaviors are learned and that patients can train themselves to avoid that actions that contribute to or exacerbate their disorder.

Who Needs Behavioral Therapy?

Behavioral therapy has proven effective in many types of patients of all ages. Physicians may recommend behavioral therapy if a patient is suffering from a disorder that is known to respond to behavioral therapy.
