TITUSVILLE, FLA. (August 26, 2019)—Parrish Medical Center has been nationally recognized as a healing environment. PMC has been the recipient of America’s #1 Healing Hospital Award by the Baptist Healing Trust for three consecutive years. Music appeals to the human senses and plays an integral role in our healing environment every day.
For the well-being of our patients and visitors, weekly live music concerts are featured in the Atrium near the central seating area for outpatient services and the atrium café.
Community volunteer musicians as well as professional musicians play weekly. We host the Brevard Symphony Orchestra small groups, volunteer pianists and other musicians. The beautiful baby grand piano, donated by our Auxiliary, has a prominent place in our atrium.
For those who are waiting for family or an outpatient test, listening to the music takes the stress or fear they may be feeling. We have witnessed couples dancing in the atrium, singing along to a familiar song, or simply listening.
“The weekly concerts are a tradition at Parrish Medical Center,” said Natalie Sellers, vice president of communications, community & corporate services. “People even enjoy stopping by for lunch and listening to local community members performing.”
